3.2 Service providers

We use trusted third-party vendors who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements. These include cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), media storage (Amazon S3), and email delivery. They are prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

3.3 Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Dicker, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business transfers

If Dicker is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Bid and deal records are retained for up to 3 years for fraud-prevention and regulatory compliance. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete Account), we delete your personal profile data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Aggregated, de-identified analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be used to identify you.

  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (e.g. location access), you can withdraw at any time without affecting prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@dicker.app. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from the app: Settings → Delete Account. This will remove your profile, favourites, and deal history within 30 days. Some data may be retained in anonymised form for fraud prevention.

6. Push Notifications

We send push notifications to inform you of deal activity, expiring deals, and redemption confirmations. You can manage notification preferences inside the app (Settings → Notifications) or through your device's notification settings. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the Services.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at privacy@dicker.app and we will delete it promptly.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@dicker.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

12. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your personal data are: (a) performance of a contract (providing the Services), (b) legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service improvement), and (c) your consent (location access, marketing communications). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending a push notification or in-app message.
